Nepo Baby vs LAPO Baby in Lagos Life

After you pick a trait, the game rolls your starting class. You cannot choose or re-roll it. The two rolls players talk about are very different.

Nepo Baby

  • Furnished flat in Lekki with rent already paid
  • A car
  • ₦500,000 in cash
  • A Branch Manager job from day one

The easy start. You can invest earlier and skip the rent panic.

LAPO Baby

  • A ₦60,000 microfinance loan
  • ₦12,000 weekly repayment on top of rent
  • A 1.25 times boost to every skill

The hard start, but the skill bonus helps promotions arrive sooner.

Some players also mention a middle-class roll. We have not seen its exact perks documented, so we only list the two confirmed starts.

How to play a LAPO start

  1. Put the weekly loan repayment ahead of everything else. It is ₦12,000 on top of your rent.
  2. Choose the cheapest home. Mushin costs ₦2,400 a week.
  3. Work every rostered day and use the free home training actions. The 1.25 times skill boost makes them pay off faster.
  4. Buy no furniture until you have cleared a comfortable buffer.

How to play a Nepo start

  1. Keep the Branch Manager job and train Charisma, since Banking promotions run on Charisma. Banking career guide
  2. Protect your cash. ₦500,000 is exactly the price of a POS Stand, the cheapest business. Business guide
  3. Do not move house just because you can afford it. A bigger home means a permanent higher weekly rent.

Not sure whether to start over? A bad roll is slower, not dead. Reports say the only way to reroll is a new account.

Frequently asked questions

Can I choose between Nepo and LAPO?

No. The birth lottery is a random roll and is reported as permanent for the account.

Is LAPO Baby really worse?

It is slower to start because of the weekly loan repayment, but it also gets a 1.25 times boost on all skill growth, which helps promotions come sooner.
